Comments: I graduated in 1978. I would be curious to know how the Fort Kent Warriors boys soccer team has performed from 1978 to present. Also, I remember that this school soccer team had won something like 78 games in a row or so in the early thru mid 70's. Can you point me to a history of that era for reading pleasure. Comments: This message is long past over-due!!! The turning of the seasons has reminded to say THANKS for the fond memories of my visit last February. I want to especially say THANK YOU to all the wonderful volunteers that came to help out at the Main Winter Sports Center for the 2001 Junior National Biathlon Races. I was extremely impressed with your community and its warm welcome! I was equally as thrilled to see the signs and billboards, around town, welcoming the biathletes! Since I was "just a mom" I didn't hang around with the athletes much so I found myself absorbing the flavor of the town. Your movie theatre was truly charming! The restaurants were great! You have a variety of places to stay. Even the grocery store was interesting. I had to bring home red hot dogs for a souvenir! I heard about Ployes but I missed trying them during my visit. (However, I did get to enjoy them this summer for the first time. Yummy!) I regret we didn't get to see the CanAM races but I'm so glad the Mardi Gras events were happening during my stay. I went to both events at the college and met some great folks. St. Louis was welcoming too! A few biathletes came with me and (like myself) were awed by the beautiful French language! oh.. and I want to say, I even played Bingo for the first time in my life! Thanks to everyone!!! I hope to visit again. Jane P.S. To this day... I'm still wondering about something. As I was driving on #1 at night I saw a number of large fluorescent-lighted crosses. Some were all alone without any town or buildings nearby. Can anyone tell me about them? Are they related?

Comments: Never lived in Fort Kent but love visiting the area. My parents were born in Fort Kent. My father lived on the street next to ST. Louis Church. It was the house directly behind church. My mother's (maiden name was Dubois) lived up the street from the theater. In both cases, can't remember the name of the streets but will always remember how to get there. Comments: I have visited Fortkent 2 times during my college stay in maine.once in 97, thanksgiving and once more in 96 university fall break. I realy liked the town very much and the people tremendous hospitality. I was a guest of the Berube family in Saint Johns ( Gene and Dian Berube who own the Gene Electric.). I really would like to make a visit to that place one more time and see it as I left with few changes. The road to Saint Johns has curvy point if i am not mistaken that need to be rerouted. Also at some point upstream of the town is another one. I have heard the happy town has lost lives at those two places. I was interested in taking my education degree at fort kent, but need to find positions for my girlfriend and/or myself. I am a recent chemistry graduate, and work in the biochemistry and molecular biology department at dalhousie, while my girlfriend is a recent psychology graduate and works as a counselor in a group home for challenged individuals. Comments: I am applying for jobs to return to Maine. There are listings in academia but I really enjoy field work. I would be interested to know if there are any employers that need employees with forestry/ horticulture/ plant disease/ plant tissue culture expertise in the Fort Kent area that are not "on the web".
