The Fort Kent Police Department is seeking a qualified, motivated, and community-oriented individual for the position of Police Officer. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive wages, wage step increases, employee and family medical health coverage, paid vacation and sick leave, 401(a) retirement plan. Individuals with honorable military experience, an Associate’s Degree or greater, or certified Maine Criminal Justice Academy graduates with current police certification are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will be required to successfully pass a background check, a medical, psychological, and polygraph examination. Candidates must also successfully pass the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Alert test as a condition of employment.

Preference may be given to candidates who are certified law enforcement officers (blue pin) or those who have successfully completed all phases of the Maine Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program (green pin).
