PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR
The Town of Fort Kent has a full-time job opportunity for the position of Parks and Recreation Director. Applicants must enjoy working with people of all ages in a wide variety of sporting and other recreational activities.
Duties include, but are not limited to, planning, organizing, supervising, promoting, maintaining, evaluating, and actively working with the municipal recreation programs and activities.
Progressive experience in recreation leadership in a supervisory capacity, and graduation from a four-year college with accreditation in recreation leadership and management, physical education, or related field; First Aid and CPR required, Lifeguard Certification or WSI Certification preferred.
Coaching experience and general swimming pool maintenance, including the handling of chemicals is also desired.

Fort Kent Police Department Hiring
The Fort Kent Police Department is seeking a qualified, motivated, and community-oriented individuals for the position of Police Officer. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive wages, wage step increases, employee and family medical health coverage, paid vacation and sick leave, ME PERS retirement.
Requirements and Qualifications: Applicants must be certified as a full-time police officer by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy or have successfully completed Phase I and Phase II of The Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program. Applicants must be able to successfully complete medical, psychological and polygraph examinations, pass an extensive background investigation and may need to meet the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Physical Fitness Standard.

Wages: Rate of pay will be $20.34 up to $25.30 (includes sergeant position) plus night shift differential, overtime available, and educational stipend. A lateral entry at the Police Chief’s discretion is available based upon training and experience. Individuals with honorable military experience, an Associate’s Degree or greater or certified Maine Criminal Justice Academy graduates with current police certification are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who are certified law enforcement officers (blue pin) or those who have successfully completed all phases of the Maine Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program (green pin).
A SIGN ON BONUS OF $2500 FOR MCJA GRADUATES WILL BE OFFERED WHICH WILL BE PRORATED OVER 2 YEARS.
